CAGSAWA RUINS

Posted by Chau On February 13, 2009

I just recently bought my first SLR when I took this picture. I had to pick up my son at Legaspi City, Albay, Philippines when I realized I still have time to kill. So armed with a Canon 400D and a 18-55mm Canon lens, I tried to find out how to get to the Cagsawa Ruins. I never thought I'd be doing an HDR as I pretty much don't know anything about photography back then... but then again the result was pretty much ... pretty but of course not perfect.

DAY 1: Sad for Those Who Were Affected By Typhoon Ketsana

Posted by Chau On September 28, 2009

It was really a sad day for the Philippines, my family included. A flash flood engulfed Metro Manila and left thousands of families homeless or devastated. Our house alone almost went under water. Almost all our belongings were destroyed. Everything that we have worked hard for were left unusable. I'm just glad that every member of my family were safe and that we still have our house.

Day 2: It's Time to Clean Up

Posted by Chau On September 29, 2009

After the flood has subsided, much of Metro Manila was left with stacked cars, ruined homes, thick mud, and garbage, garbage, garbage. It's time to clean up! It will be difficult to clean though as there is still no electricity and water.

Parting Ways

After more than four years serving Seven Seven Global Services, Inc. (formerly known as CyberJ Resources, Inc.), I have finally parted ways with the company that I have known and loved. Effective July 9, 2008, I will not be associated anymore with 77GSI.

I started as a Junior Software Engineer in 77GSI and left as a Junior IT Project Manager. Except for the "Junior", much have changed in the position that I held in this company. I have been involved with so many endeavors of the company that listing them down here would not be advisable (unless I want to bore my readers to death)! I must say that 77GSI have helped me a lot in achieving what I have achieved right now. And I am not leaving the company due to bad events or reputation. I am leaving because I will need more room to grow and I now have a much deeper pocket to fill due to a string of events that have been coming to me lately.

Speaking of parting ways, I will be parting ways with friends here in the Philippines for a while since I will be working in Singapore starting July 14. It was a big decision for me to work there but I think my decision is in the right direction.

In the same light, I regret to say this but I might not be able to see my son for a very long time... Aside from the fact that his mother would not let me see my own son, I will be too far away to visit often. Much has happened and much more will be happening as I struggle to have the custody of my son. As I have promised to you when you stayed with me during your last birthday and heart operation, I will find a way to get you back!!! We will be together again soon! So until then, Vince, don't forget your father and stay safe.

This will be my first time to live far away from home and on my own! And damn I'm already old! ^^
